COVID-19 Flying Activities

Dear friends,

Skynomad Team fully realizes the seriousnes of the COVID-19 situation all arround the world and hopes for a quicker and better resolution of theese difficult times for all of us.

However many of you know that the only stronger virus than the corona virus is the flying virus - a "sickness" that yet has to be cured!

Skynomad would like to inform all our friends that our activities are running uninterupted !

December 2019

As the end of 2019 was getting near and the weather outside was getting progressively unflyable Niki decided to reminese the best moments of the year in a nice slideshow of his adventures.

And as Niki was getting ready to embark on his annual adventure to Africa, Ivelin Kalushkov was setting new bulgarian gliding records in Australia yet again:

November 2019

November settled in but the winter was nowhere near!

As the warm weather continued we focused on using the conditions to the maximum.

Ivelin practiced some Skydiving drop-oofs with some good friends before setting to another adventure in Australia.

September 2019

September came, autumn startet knocking on the door, but the summer had no intention to leave! smiley

We started the month with our good from the "Condors"club from the UK.

The weather was really good and unusually dry for the season. This provided for exceptional weather for the 2 weeks the "Condors"were visiting us! We had only 1 unflyable day due to strong winds.

December 2018

With the last month of 2018 upon us and the winter cold outside, all it is left for us to do is to do a recap of the year and become a bit more creative.

Niki Yotov made a few beautiful picture slideshows from some of our November adventures with students which you can review here:

September 2018

With the last sunny days of the Summer came and the annual "Finnish Invasion" of Sopot.

Our frinds from Helsinki were again arround and about managing to make some nice flights in the valley and beyond making the best of the good autumn conditions.

Due to the persistent NE winds some interesting routes were possible to the SW of Sopot in the rarely flown southern slopes of Sredna Gora.

July 2018

July came with warm weather and some more thunderstorms.

However we managed to complete 2 XC Training and 2 XC Guiding weeks and to help our friends reach new horizons while feeling more comfortable with thermals.

The XC training consisted of thermal by thermal guidance by our instructors plus briefing and debriefing via tracklog analysys of everyone participating - one of the best ways of learning is trough your own mistakes.

April 2018

With the season begining in Bulgaria and the first students getting some amazing weather, the season on the oposite side of the Earth is in full power.

Ivelin Kalushkov participated in 2 gliding competitions and managed to get his FAI Silver, Gold and 2 Diamond badges:

March 2018

Altough the weather is warming up winter is still not gone and likes to remind us of that.

The first batch of beginners had a fairly wet week o training but all managed to finish their beginners course happy.

In the mean time Ivo is enjoying the beautiful and rather hot summer in Australia

September 2017

The first weeks of September we had a few events in Sopot - with the Bulgarian National Championships taking place in the first week and the "Airheads" festival in the second.

Ivelin Kalushkov managed to score 4-th place in the national rankings and 7-th place overall.

With the hardcore weather left in August we resumed training courses in September, and we were no short of enthusiasts wanting to take to the skies.
